Tuesday's Treats

Now I love this fall weather, even if Utah never really got a summer this year. There is something about it that really bring out the baker in me. I really feel like there is nothing better than walking into a nice warm kitchen to snack on something just out of the oven. Now this Tuesday's Treats isn't something that'll happen all that often, but today I'm making banana nut bread and figured it's a yummy treat that most enjoy! I figure what better way to get the fall recipes started then by sharing my banana nut bread recipe and hopefully even doing a picture step by step for those of you (like me) who like to make sure they are doing whatever it is right!

First things first, the recipe.

2 c. sugar                      3 eggs
1/2 c. butter                  1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda    3 1/2 c flour
1 cap full vanilla             6 ripe bananas
1 tsp salt                        1 c walnuts

So I learned from the Cake Dr to have the oven preheating for 15 mins before you actually bake anything. so Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, and prepare the cupcake pans. (Or loaf pans, I couldn't find loaf pans at my moms so it ended up being banana nut muffins)

Check out my mom's 27 year old muffin pans. They worked great still!

Soften the butter.

 Add sugar.

 Mix these two together

Add eggs.
Now it starts to look good!
This is where I add in the soda & powder oh and salt
 And the vanilla.
After it's all mixed I add the bananas (my dad has frozen bananas so they look a little different and of course there were more than just the 3 slices.

After it's mixed add the flour then the nuts.

I filled the muffin tins almost all the way full.  I baked about 25 mins until a knife came out clean when stuck in the center of the biggest ones.
They were delish!
