Snow Day

**First off, I apologize for the strange look my blog is having lately, I'm trying to figure out what in the heck to do with it design wise!**

Boy has it been cold in our city lately! We've seen the negatives, heck I don't think we've seen anything above 18* in a couple weeks, oh how I wish I could see even the high 20's. We've also had 2 large snow storms, each of which left 12" of snow in our yard.

Now A was too small last winter to go out and enjoy the snow, this year though, I was ready for her to go out to enjoy it. This last Saturday, when my husband was getting all geared up to go shovel the driveway and sidewalk, A asked if she could "peeeeze" go out with him. Of course you can't tell that sweet little voice no. So we bundled that little girl up and sent her out.

At first I stayed inside, watching through the kitchen window while I did dishes. That didn't last long, I don't know what I was thinking! This was my baby girl's FIRST time playing in the snow, I had to be out there taking pictures!

Seriously, best snow day ever! She was so happy & had so much fun running around and jumping in the snow! So glad we let her adventure out this winter to see what that white stuff was all about!

Does it snow much where you are? Do you love it or hate it?!

Who am I?

Don't we ask ourselves that question quite often?

Who am I?

Sometimes I feel like I get lost in the "Mommy Summers" blog theme, (which if you're wondering or confused like I'd probably be, is strictly Mommy Blog material). I sometimes wonder how I forget I'm a woman, and not just a mom. I have talents and hobbies. Things excite me, and not just seeing a great deal on some cute clothes for my baby. (Err, toddler.)

Seeing as I can no longer fall back to sleep after 6:30 am, and A doesn't wake up until closer to 9/9:30 I want to say I'll be back at blogging more. I really think I need a plan though. How do you go about figuring out a blogging plan?  Sometimes (okay- most times), at night or just going through my day I'll start writing a post in my head, it'll sound amazing, of course I have nothing to write/type on, just my phone but really, how well does that ever go? What do you do at those times?

Did you know I made some "Goals for 2013"? I bet you didn't. I'm still deciding if they are realistic or not. But, hey if they don't happen in 2013, I have plenty of time after to accomplish them right? I want to be a better writer. I dreamed of writing books and sharing my story (not that it's anything really special or unique), when I was younger. I had journals, never wrote regularly though, just enough to help me remember. How do I get there?

I want to be more "real". I share the good things, and sometimes the bad, but how can I give you a glimpse into my life without it being bland or to personal?

I want to be myself. Did you know that I can gross out even my brothers with the things I say? Seriously, my husband can't believe I have a mouth like the one I do. I'm never inappropriate at the wrong times, I know who I can be really myself around, but I also what to be more myself more often (not that being gross is the only thing that makes me, well me, I just know it's something you don't know about me and don't worry I plan on keeping my blog clean). I tend to be shy, hang back. So I want to tweet at that awesome blogger, make friends with them, but me?- eh I'm just an average blogger, heck the streak I had going disappeared rather quickly. Why would they want to talk to me?

How do you break away from your "blog theme"? How do you become the better you?

Surviving Morning Sickness with a Toddler.

So if you followed me through my last pregnancy you know that the first 12 weeks my world is being turned upside down. Nothing will stay in my stomach, not even water. Life is wild. It was hard the first time around, but now with an almost 2 year old in tow, morning sickness has jumped up a level.

These are a few tricks that I've learned to help my toddler deal with my morning sickness.

1. I leave the door open if it's just us at home. She gets scared if the door is shut and she hears it. In between my stomach emptying itself I tell her that it's okay and try and make light of it for her.

2. I find a comfortable spot on the floor close to her so we can watch shows or play games together with me moving very little to none, while my stomach is turn and my world spinning.

3. I let her be a big girl as much as she wants. No more babying her unless she needs/wants it. It's amazing how excited she gets when we start singing the "Clean Up" song, she knows that what we're going to do will be fun and will end with a treat of some sort!

As for me dealing with a toddler an morning sickness:

1. Wake up just before they get up and pop a pill and relax. (Dr's suggestion)

2. Clean when possible, or needed. My house has been a disaster for the last 8 or so weeks, it's fine unless someone is coming over & then I find enough strength to clean. I figure as long as it's just toys and clothes, no need to worry about it.

3.We snack together. If I just need an apple or a few sour patch kids, she is more than welcome to it as well, makes her feel like she's part of the club.

4. Remember that this is all new and their toddler world is being rocked as well. The once active mom is now laying around looking awful. This one took me a little bit to figure out, but once I did and helped her through it, she's understanding and back to her happy little self.

Though I've reached the 12 week mark and things are slowly dying down morning sickness wise, I still follow these little rules I've figured out. My pregnancy wasn't too easy last time around and this time I want to make sure that my toddler is happy, and feels loved even though our world is being rocked.

What are some tips you have for handling morning sickness while you have a toddler?

Sunday Social 1/6

Sunday Social

1. Do you plan to change any of your eating habits in the new year?
Nope, I've changed so much in the last few months, cut out caffeine/soda completely, barely eat out, barely eat anything sweet, I'm hoping to just stick with it this year!

2. Any workout tips to get us back in shape after the Holidays?

Ha, before I got pregnant I loved to do Pilates & Yoga. Definitely my favorite work outs.

3. Favorite thing you did over the Holidays?

Spending time with my family. A is at the perfect age for Christmas this year, last year she was only 9 months, this time around she was almost 2!

4. What is something you hope that you accomplish in 2013 that you did not in 2012?
Reading more books. I can't remember what I had set my goal at, BUT I know I didn't reach it. Really wish I had done better!

5. Name 3 things happening this year you are excited about and why

1. Having baby #2!! Due July 13!

2. My brother getting married August 2nd!

3. My brother & his family coming up from Texas for the wedding!

I don't think any of those really need an explanation as to why I'm excited!! AH! Can't believe it's coming up!

Telling the Husband!

So I absolutely LOVE reading how people tell their spouses about them being pregnant, and this time around I knew exactly what to do!

I took a test Monday afternoon (Oct 29), and got what I thought was a line!

I was so unsure though! So I didn't say anything to Sky. So the next morning I got up and took another.
(Monday on top, Tuesday on bottom!)
I still wasn't convinced. Crazy right?
So later I went and got a pack of digital tests &
took one right in the Wal-Green's Bathroom!
 Surprise!

So I made A this cute shirt that says Big Sister on it, put it over her outfit & had hubs get her. He walked into the room kind of saw it, started to leave then went, wait what? Big sister?!

Wish I could have gotten a picture of her in it, but I will! She'll have plenty of time to wear it!

It was perfect!

Summer 2013.

If you read yesterday's post then you already know, BUT for those of you that haven't....

Baby #2 is due July 13, 2013!

Making me just past 12 weeks pregnant!
We get an ultrasound at the end of this month & my doctor said he'll take a guess on the gender!

If you are new here, we had been trying for about 9 months for baby #2, and after 2 round of Clomid we were blessed with this little addition!

Oh & P.S. If we talk IRL, (Facebook) don't say anything, we're not telling till probably 20 weeks!
