Beauty.

I don't know about you, but my Facebook News Feed has been full of "Share 5 Pictures you feel Beautiful in" posts. I've had a mix of feelings watching this new trend come around. It's wonderful seeing all these women embracing their beauty and showing "the world" they know they are beautiful. Yet at the same time, most posts start with phrases like:

"So & so just had to tag me in this..."
"It was so hard for me to find 5 pictures..."
"I don't have 5 pictures I feel beautiful in but here are some okay ones..."
"I don't know why so & so had to tag me in this..."

Women showing their insecurities with themselves. Could you pick out 5 pictures you feel beautiful in? I know the ones I would pick would be the ones with perfect lighting, a little touching up, where my hair & make up are both done. Could I post a picture where I wasn't wearing makeup? Eek. Do I even have any of those? Even the pictures I'm sharing with you I'm sporting make up in.

Would I post picture 1?

The one that gave me the motivation to work out. I mean look at that picture. The angle is off and ick, my body just doesn't look great to me.

What about picture 2?

The family trip where I was on my second round of Clomid and feeling all sorts of emotions, and clearly being happy with my body shape wasn't one of them.

There is no way those would make it up on my personal Facebook, which is sad. I'm the always ready/wearing makeup type person. I feel very insecure without it and I know that I need to embrace the flaws I see in myself.

Though I haven't been tagged and don't plan on participating I found the need to share some of my thoughts on this and even share this picture with you, my blogging friends, the people I can be myself most around.

A picture that I know I can look back at and say, what a great moment. A picture where maybe I'm not wearing makeup but, I'm happy and I'm with one of my sweet babies. I know I've written this way too much but ever since I started my whole exercise routine, I've been seeing an improvement in my self-image. I no longer feel absolutely disgusting. I know I am the one that controls my appearance (mostly- girls thanks for the stretch marks!) and the way I feel about myself.

I'm trying to constantly improve that feeling I get when I see older pictures, or when my daughter takes a quick picture of me while I'm not paying attention. I don't want my girls to grow up and constantly be around someone with a bad self-image, I know that I dealt with that growing up and know the negative side effects of that all too well.

I don't want to be old and wrinkly and wishing I had taken more pictures with my kids or husband. I want to look back and not only remember the moments but be happy with who I am.

What do you think about this new game that's going around? Have you participated in it?

Cleaner Eating with My Family.

I love to try to recipes with my family. Heck I spend lots of time trying to meal plan and make sure we try at least 1 new meal a week. (Every meal this week will be new!! Eek!) With my husband gluten free, and my daughters limited on dairy (sometimes you just need cheese or ice cream!), it's hard finding inexpensive meals that are super easy and yummy for this busy, growing family. I turn to Pinterest so very often for ideas. Here are a few of our favorites lately!

Cabbage Spaghetti

Empowered Sustenance

Spaghetti Squash with Grilled Chicken and Sun-dried Tomatoes

Tasty Kitchen

Cauliflower Rice

Caveman Modern Woman

Slow Cooker Chicken Posole

Simply Sugar & Gluten Free

There are many more we've tried & enjoyed, like Cauliflower Mashed "Potatoes". It's so much fun trying new "cleaner" things out and actually enjoying them!

What are some of your favorite cleaner eating recipes?

Simply Vitamin C Serum Review.

I love trying new products out on my skin. If it promises to help hydrate it, make my skin look younger, why the heck not? Especially if you get it for free. Yes, I received this product for free, and am writing out my exact thoughts & feelings of it.

What did I get?

What did it say it would do for me?

Improve: texture, glow, and smoothness of complexion.
Increase: Collagen Production (younger looking skin)
Brighten Hydrate & Moisturize my skin.
Reverse damage.
It contains: Vit C, Hyaluronic Acid, & Vitamin E.

What did I think?

I've tried a couple other Vitamin C Serums, all different of course. So I was quite disappointed when I started noticing this particular one caused my face to start breaking out! Eek! I stopped using it for a few days let my skin clear up, then tried at it again for another week and it still caused it to break out. Now I'm not sure what it was that caused the breakouts but I know this was definitely part of the problem. With the other serums my breakouts healed faster and even stopped. I feel awful that I didn't get to try this out for a full 30 days in a row, I just couldn't take having my skin break out so much.

Ever try something that you think you'll love, only to find out it just didn't work for you?

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Cabbage. Blogilates. Iron.

Like.
We had boiled cabbage in place of spaghetti noodles last night. Yum. I have so much fun finding new noodle substitutes.Heck I've been having so much fun just finding healthier recipes for my family to try. It's nice feeling like I'm taking care of my family even just a little better. What are your favorite clean eating recipes?

Love.
22 Days ago I wrote a blog post about Motivation. If you didn't get the chance to read it I wrote about how hard it was to find the motivation I wanted to work out. Well guess what since that post I've worked out every day, some days I was able to double up on the work outs. (I'm following the Blogilates Beginner's Calendar.) It's been amazing. Have there been some days where I'm like uhh... let's not do this? Sure! And you know what, I actually got through it. I'm not sure what's different this time, but I'm glad something changed!  I've absolutely LOVED this change I've found in myself.

Loathe.
Iron supplement drops. Miss M has been taking them twice a day for a week, and it's been bittersweet. It's a pain to get in, finally figured out she'll take them with yogurt and only yogurt, thank goodness she needs the dairy/protein. They taste horrible, they make her stomach crazy but they're also helping her. I'm sure in a couple weeks I'll love them, but right now they're causing problems.

Currently.

Currently.

Thinking about// finding my motivation for my workout. (Daily internal conversation over coffee.)

Drinking// Yup, you guessed it, coffee. Love having a sweet little Starbucks employee living in my basement! Also, this is the time where I motivate myself for my workout!

Reading// Well... I just finished up The Giver again, I still have An Abundance of Katherines to finish up and a couple other books. Hmm... what are they again...

Watching// Baby Daddy on Netflix. We're kind of running low on shows right now, what do you suggest?

Thankful For// A new job opportunity for the mister. And at least one 3 hour chunk of sleep last night.

Enjoying// Our clean carpets and couch. Got a new carpet cleaner last night and started cleaning away. Love a clean house. Oh and some of the cute pics on my phone as I'm helping clean up some space on it!

Loving// My smaller size stretchy jeans and smaller size t-shirt. It's such a great feeling to know that your hard work (okay it's only about 30 mins a day) is actually paying off.

Listening to// nothing but me typing away. My girls are still sleeping- thank goodness- it's only 6:50 right now, and it was a late and long night, especially for Miss M. Can't wait for these iron drops to start kicking in more and helping her sleep better!

What are you up to currently? Also-- do you have a favorite smoothie recipe?!

Natures Best Vitamin C Serum Review

It wasn't until I started getting older and after having both of my girls that I really stepped up my skin care routine. I mean I didn't really care what the bottles said and didn't have any special tricks up my sleeve for nice skin. Heck I'm not sure I even used a moisturizer until this last year. (Eek! I know right?!)

I've been using a nice face wash as well as a tone lately, and more recently I added Natures Best Vitamin C Serum. To my morning make-up routine. Just a little about this Vitamin C Serum:

Made for all skin types.

Made from Pure Natural Organic ingredients.
Helps to reduce acne (removes toxins).
Creates Collagen (gives firmer, healthier skin).
Reduces Skin damage
Makes skin look younger

Has a lot to live up to doesn't it? Well not going to lie, I was pretty hesitant about this stuff actually working. It wasn't until I was 21 that I started breaking out, and when I did it was bad, and oh the scars it left behind.

Ick, I really thought I had taken good pictures. I'm really hoping the after pictures will show a change. This was the day I got the Vitamin C, the first time I actually put it on before bed. I loved the dropped in the bottle, it made it so easy to put straight on my face. It rubbed in nicely and didn't have a scent.

Ha, so maybe my before & afters aren't that great, but I can tell you, when I look into the mirror, I can see a difference. My makeup covers my scars or current breakouts better. My skin is softer and brighter. Absolutely love using the Vitamin C. It's become part of my daily makeup routine.

Have you used Vitamin C Serum before? What did you like about it? If you're thinking about it, what questions do you have?

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Sunday Social 7/13

1. Tell us about the family you grew up in, parents, siblings, grandparents.
I come from a fairly good sized family. For the first 12 years of my life I was the oldest child, I have 1 younger brother and 3 younger sisters, at about age 12 my parents gave us an older brother. We grew up in California while the majority of our family was in Utah. It wasn't until I was 16 that we made the move back.

Missing our oldest brother. And this is us 3 years ago. We all look different now.

2. Tell us about your husband.
This guy is my best friend. Seriously. We've been married coming up on 6 years, and together for a little over 6 1/2 years. He's supportive and everything I am not and everything I need him to be.

3. Tell us about your children.
My two girls are my world. As of right now, they complete our family. They're everything we wanted and more. A is 3 and M is 1 and they're best friends. They do everything together. They keep me smiling.

4. Tell us about your best friends.
Eek. I don't know if I even have any. After moving to Utah at such an odd age in my life it's been hard to really connect with anyone, everyone had already had their groups in highschool. I do have a friend that I've kept in touch with since high school and she is absolutely amazing, but we only see each other maybe once a year.

5. Tell us about any other special people in your life.
My siblings' kids. They all have big places in my heart. They are my girls' best friends, lots of times it feels like they're growing up more like siblings than cousins. We have a new niece coming this week and we cannot wait to meet her!

6 This Week.

This week.

Teething Babies. Goodness. Teething with my oldest was a breeze. She would take a little tylenol, nap and be fine. Her sister is the opposite. Doesn't sleep, stomach is sick, completely miserable, 24/7 until those teeth are in. Add her teething cousin to the mix, and we've got a long week.

State daycare inspection. Getting ready for the Family Friends & Neighbors inspection of my house nearly killed me. I was so worried about every little thing. Good news, we passed! I can keep watching my nephew for a couple more months till the next inspection!

Exercising. I made it! Actually worked out all 5 days this week. Some days I even got double workouts in! Score! Seriously loving Blogilates right now. Let's hope this motivation/love lasts!

Meal planning. Been struggling with my meal planning this week, really need some new Paleo recipes to try, ones that preferably aren't over the top expensive.

Products. I've gotten quite a few products to review this week! Loving them so far! Can't wait to share with you!

Blogging. Finally taking the time not only to work on my blog, but to reach out and comment on other blogs! Feels nice to be back into it and reconnecting and connecting with you!

How has your week been?

10-12 Months Old.

I still can't believe my baby turned 1. Seriously. Here's a glimpse into the last few months with her.

TEN.

Aunt Lori & Cousin Lee visited again. We started watching Cousin during the days so you two are trouble together. We celebrated sister's 3rd birthday. She went to her very first wedding. Started playing like a big girl, letting her sister put princess dresses on her. Trying to walk. Seriously. It's ridiculous! She's growing up WAY too fast!

Eleven.

First time at the zoo. Started to climb into the lower things, laundry baskets and cabinets. Loves to go on wagon rides. Decided that teething is only worth it if you can have a pacifier to chew on. Taking about 15 steps at a time- just enough to cross a room and get to sister or snacks.

Twelve.

Walking. Everywhere. Seriously this girl is wild and learning new things so fast.
Has 4 teeth, two bottom middle, and two on the top sides. Started climbing. Loves her sister so much. Loves chocolate. Silly silly little girl. Loves fruit & veggies, but not meat.

HSI Professional Argan Oil Review

If there was one habit that hasn't changed about me since I was little it would be the daily styling of my hair. Seriously people, I remember having my hair blown out nightly by my mother through-out elementary school and as I got older I took over that routine. That little routine is now something I also share with my daughter.

I've always liked to keep it pretty simple when it comes to tools & products, yes I might have a lot of different products but when it comes to use, there have only ever been few if any products that I use daily. Over the last month I've added the HSI Professional Argan Oil to that routine.

Now personally I'm not a big fan of adding oil to my hair. I was worried about having oily flat hair after using it. I was even more unsure when it said that it could be used on not only damp but dry hair! Eeek! Adding an oil to dry hair? Well guess what. I loved it! A little bit went a long way, but if by chance I looked away at my daughter and poured too much in my hand it wasn't a disaster. Also, I was super surprised that putting it straight into my already dried hair didn't ruin my hair. One suggestion would be a different top or something, I felt like there was too much of a chance of me pouring too much out. Other than that, LOVED this product.

Usually after putting a product with any kind of oil in my hair, I will wake up the next day with super greasy hair, not with oil! I was actually able to wash my hair less, because I wasn't afraid of the Day 2 hair like I typically am. Seriously how great is that?!

Have you used Argan Oil before? What other types of products to you use when you style your hair?

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
