Thankful Day 11

Tonight I am thankful for family date night.
My parent's have always tried to go out on the weekend to dinner and possibly a movie. Last year they we're doing pretty good at going out every Friday night. Well when I got pregnant and got really sick my mom would "babysit" me while DH was at work, and that's when it all started. I got to tag along to date night with my parent's because no one else was able to watch me, then my sister started coming, and more people, till everyone was going to family date night when they could. This is how it came about, and I love it. Every Friday we all plan to get together after my dad gets home from work to eat dinner and chat. Sometimes they go back to my parent's and watch movies (but it's usually a little late for me to stay out with A, who likes a early bedtime). It's a way that we all stay in touch, stay close. We have a great time, I'm so glad it got started, we haven't been able to do much together as a family since we've grown up.People are working or going out on dates. It's just crazy how fast time has gone, thank goodness for family date nights.

Thankful Day 10

I'm so thankful to live close to my family.
The help me so much, and I know I am able to help them so much too. Today when A woke up feeling icky, and I had E over, I was able to call my mom and tell her that I needed some help watching E today because A needed mom. It was perfect. Right now as our dryer is out of service, and we can't buy a new one right away I'm able to drag laundry over and do my laundry. It's just a little bit of everything. I love it. S's family lives close by too but, they seem to care less if the see us or not. My family does help. They are over here in my muddy backyard on a very cold snowy day helping, they take care of my puppy for me, they love my baby. It's wonderful.

Thankful Day 7, 8 & 9

Day 7:
I'm thankful for answered prayers.
The last week or so we've been in the "things are breaking and needing to be fixed now or we're screwed" phase. Water leaking into the basement caused us to need to redo the entire back yard, which set us back $2000, thankfully that was the cheap end. It would have cost at least 5 times that if my brother hadn't done all the work for free, and if my brother in law hadn't of given us such a great deal on machines for three days. I've been praying to get some money coming in somehow without me having to leave my baby girl and you know what! Sunday night I got a phone call from my nephew's great aunt, asking if I could watch her daughter (E, 2yrs) for her Mon-Thurs about 6-3:15, sometimes Fridays. Talk about perfect timing. The last few days I've been watching her and it's been wonderful, sure it's hard to juggle a 2 yr old and 8 month old (who decided to start teething) but knowing I'm doing all I can to make her feel loved and safe, is worth it, and hey the money is helpful too! (Can't wait to start spending it!)

Day 8:
I'm thankful for "seeing things through their eyes".
It's amazing what children adore, and get excited over. Watching E & having my sweet sweet baby girl A, is giving me the opportunity to see how wonderful & exciting everything is or can be. Definitely makes you appreciate things more.

Day 9:
I'm thankful for the bond I have with my siblings.
We had lunch with my Uncle today. He's my mom's oldest brother. He's the only one that keeps in touch with my mom. He is also the only one that hasn't ever caused problems or said anything bad about my family. It's so sad to see that a family can turn on each other so easily. My mom's family has been like this since she was little, so it's so important to her and to me as well, that my siblings and I are close and can trust each other.

8 months

Miss Abigail...

You are 8 months old-- where in the heck has time gone?!
You have learned so much this past month!
You have gotten your tooth which we have started to brush!
you are starting to crawl, you have even started to walk when we hold ya under your arms while you stand up. The night before you turned 8 months you learned how to drink out of a straw!
You are wearing 6-12 month tops, and 9-12 month bottoms.
You are in size 2 shoes & size 3 diapers!
You love to eat stage 3 foods or whatever I am eating.
You celebrated your first Halloween as Minnie Mouse.
You get into everything!
You love to clap and watch Blue's Clues.
 You talk so much!
You still sleep in your crib in your own room.
We had family pictures this past month, twice.
 You are a ham.
You love people-especially strangers, to tell you how cute you are!
You are eating your puff snacks, whole pieces.
You love to drink out of cups.
You started to sit up while doing everything, bathing and getting dressed.
You love to be silly and laugh at random things. You think you are a vacuum.
