Miss M's Birth Story Part 1.

If there is one thing in my journey of getting pregnant, being pregnant and the birthing experience, I've been very blessed when it comes to the labor & delivery part.

I remember hoping that this baby was going to be a 37 week baby. My body hurt, I wasn't getting any sleep, I was ready to meet this sweet girl. At my 38 week appointment, Monday July 1st, I was 3 cm dilated. My doctor went ahead and did a membrane sweep and we double checked that we still wanted to be induced the next Monday. I was so upset leaving that appointment, I just wanted to go into labor on my own. It's funny, my husband and I joked that Thursday July 4th, or July 5th, would be perfect days to go into labor, he would be able to have a weekend off, and only miss one day of work.
oh do I hope I don't regret posting this one.

It was Wednesday morning, early, I got up around 3:45 am for a quick pee break as always. honestly wasn't uncommon the last couple weeks, Miss M was squashing my bladder. Finally around 4:30 I fell asleep, only to be woken up by my water breaking. It was enough of a change down there for me to wake up. Honestly I figured I had peed my pants. So I changed and went out to watch TV. Well I just kept leaking, so I showered and waited to make sure it wasn't just a squashed bladder problem. By about 5:30 I woke my husband had him get ready and called my mom to watch Miss A.

38 W 4 D

Shortly after taking this picture, we headed to the hospital and by then there was no controlling the leaking. I knew she was joining us that day even before getting the official "your water broke", from the nurse.

sent this to my sis letting her know where I was, she lived with me and didn't even know I left

At 8 am I was started on Pitocin and still measured at 3cm and 60%.  At 8:28, a 4 & 65%, that's when my doctor felt the need to break my water more and to move her head. At this point there was no epidural, I was still hardly feeling contractions. After he moved her head, boy did things change. I was told the nurse would be back in shortly with the epidural. Well an hour passed and I couldn't take it anymore. Still no nurse. I sent the hubs out to find someone. At 9:30 my epidural was in and I was starting to feel more relaxed.

he always manages to take horrible pictures of me at the hospital ha.

By 10 I was at a 5 and and 10:50 I was 8. They called my doctor, after 3 pushes, Miss M joined our family.

In case you missed my last post, she weighed in at 6lbs 6 oz, and 20 in long. Absolutely perfect. Unlike her sister, she chose to scream. And she screamed for quite some time.

As for me, though it was  quick and easy delivery, there was definitely some damage done. I got plenty of stitches, thank goodness the epidural took quite some time to wear off.

Since this post is already so long and I have tons more pictures to show, we'll end this story right here.

In-law Drama & Babies.

I'm not sure what makes my in-laws do the things they do. I am however very tired of the way they question every decision I make.

For example, the fact that I didn't want any visitors while I was in labor with Miss A, my mom and baby sister took me to the hospital and waited till my husband showed up then left to pick up around my house & love my dog. My younger sister stopped by with food for the husband that night, weren't there for more than 5 minutes total.

Or that I didn't want kids or very many visitors in the hospital after I had her. I didn't need a crowded room while I was relaxing and enjoying my first hours as a mom. (If you like to do that, that's fine I'm not judging, its just not what I wanted to have happen.)

Every time they threw a fit. Complaining, saying it was weird. Like when they got mad because I was tired of people showing up whenever with whoever they wanted after I got home and said something about it. My house, my baby, my rules.

The newest thing is the fact that I'm having my girls share a room. I just finished putting the toddler bed back into the nursery & setting up the new crib. They fit perfect in that room together. I grew up always sharing a room, I loved it. Once I was older I got my own room, just when I started feeling like I needed my own space. And again, my house, my girls, my rules.

Every one parents different. My husband and I have agreed on a certain way that makes us all comfortable and happy. It's worked for us for over 2 years now. My sisters and their boyfriends choose to parent different than us, as do my brother, his fiance and his son's mom. They do what works for them. I might not agree with their styles, but they know their kids and I'm gonna keep my mouth shut, it's not my place

Having our new addition joining us so soon really has me on edge. I'm not ready for any drama with my in-laws. They're just going to need to accept that I do things different than them. I don't want an audience at the birth of Miss M, Miss A will be with my family, we'll only have a few visitors at the actual hospital and then people can schedule a time to visit at home after. It's really that simple.

I don't know what to do. I'm starting to stress out about what they're going to do. I don't need my brother in law telling me that I need medication, because I like things a certain way. (Still can't believe he said that, I should have strangled him.)

But really friends, what do you do?

Three Things Thursday: My Dad

3 things you love about your dad.

Only 3? I could write quite the list easily. My dad is amazing. Here are just 3 reasons why.

1.His honesty.

 2. His ability to stay calm in any situation. I really don't think I've ever seen my dad lose it. He's always very calm and helps you feel calm and at ease with everything. I was nervous walking down the aisle at my wedding, he was avoiding crying so he talked to me the entire walk, just about random things. Just enough to make me feel comfortable and to calm our nerves.

3. The way he presents himself. He's out working in my yard right now, and if I knew he'd let me snap a pic I would, but he is always in clean clothes, and his face freshly shaved no matter what he is doing. I know it's not all about how you look, but the way you look definitely changes the way people treat you and the way you feel about yourself.

I'm gonna sneak in a fourth!

4. His love of being a grandpa. Seriously this guy is an amazing grandpa. A can't get enough of him when she sees him. He'll just hold her and take her wherever he goes. Love it.

What are a few of the things you love about your dad?

Our Zoo Trip!

I woke up May 28 with an amazing idea. Let's go to the zoo this Saturday. I texted the hubs and we decided it was a date. It would be June 1st. Less than 6 weeks before Miss M would be here for sure. 3 weeks before full term, things were getting close & we needed to be spending lots of quality time as just a family of 3 before our lives changed.

I only ended up bringing my cellphone because I thought my SIL would have her camera but my brother had taken it to DC with him. Turd. But I did get some pictures to help us remember our Zoo day. None of which include me. A LOVED it! We brought my mom, SIL, nephew and my Sis who is in these pictures 37 weeks pregnant.

I couldn't get a good picture of A at all, she was more curious about everything around her. Usually I can get her to smile for me, but at the zoo? No way. We saw the grizzly bears at one point and they were playing in the water, fighting and such and she absolutely did not approve and kept yelling "YOU STOP!" just like she does to Nana's dogs when they are play fighting.

Our Zoo is under construction again. (We got a new Polar Bear exhibit last year, and this coming Spring we will have a new African Savannah exhibit, so we will definitely go back again!) So our trip there was only a couple hours long and we didn't get to see too many animals, but it was more than worth it.

The Mr. took A into the gift shop & told her to go for it. Well she found the $40 polar bear & decided he was perfect. After a quick ride in her stroller for the Polar Bear, we headed back home, to sit back and relax while Miss M decided to roll around in my belly.

I think it means she liked the zoo too and can't wait to go next year. :)

Monday Listicles. 10 things Beauty.

10 Beauty tools/products you can't live without.

1. Moisturizer. Helps start the look, even if that look is the "crazy tired mom" look.

2. Round brush. Love volume in my hair.
3. Foundation. Let's cover up the problems.
4. Mascara. Even if it's a no make up day, mascara is needed.
5. Some sort of hot tool (straightener, curling iron, wand)
6. Tweezers. Gotta always have 2 eyebrows.
7. Nail polish. Toes have to look cute.
8. A good strong hairspray. Don't need to waste my time styling my hair to have it fall flat!
9. Comb. Sometimes all it takes is a little teasing to get pretty hair.
10. A good face mask.
